The Federal government has announced plans to introduce legislation which would repeal a key provision under the Environment Protection & Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, limiting the ability of the community to enforce Australia’s national environmental laws. Read more in our blog.

Court hearing on Shenhua coal mine approval

We're representing community group, Upper Mooki Landcare Inc, in its legal challenge to the approval of mining company Shenhua’s Watermark open cut coal mine on the Liverpool Plains. The case is that approval did not properly consider the impact of the mine on the local koala population. The case began on Monday, 31 August. Read more.
