EPBC Referral: Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, QLD – Yellow Crazy Ant Eradication project
Yellow Crazy Ant Eradication project - On 12 August 2014, the proposed action to implement a Yellow Crazy Ant eradication project in North Queensland was determined to be not a controlled action provided it was undertaken in a particular manner under sections 75 and 77A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
The Minister for the Environment has received a request under Section 78A of the EPBC Act to reconsider the decision made under subsection 75(1) of the Act, on the basis of a substantial change in circumstances that was not foreseen at the time of the first decision and may influence the impacts that the action has, will have, or is likely to have, on:
- Listed threatened species and communities;
- World Heritage properties; and
- National Heritage places.
Submission invited until Tuesday 8 March 2016.
