Training and lawyer exchanges
We conduct workshops in the South Pacific at the request of local groups
These cover issues such as coastal law, forestry, and climate change, as well as skills such as policy and law reform, case management and the use of scientific experts. We can also provide tailored training in environmental law to complement existing training programs.
Our International Program workshops and presentations can be found here.
We host lawyer exchanges in our Sydney office for lawyers from the region. Participating lawyers can gain experience working with our lawyers, attend formal training and meet with judges, counsel and other environmental law practitioners in Australia.
We may be able to help with the costs of travel, and can assist lawyers to apply for external funding for these exchanges and other training in Australia.
We also facilitate the placement of Australian lawyers and other professionals within our partner organisations, through the Australian Volunteers for International Development program.
