Peers confirm EDO lawyers are top of class
EDO NSW’s lawyers have been recognised amongst the nation’s best in the recently released Best Lawyers guide of 2020.
Three lawyers from the Environmental Defenders Office NSW have been recognised, with Rachel Walmsley, Director Policy and Law Reform [right], and Brendan Dobbie, Acting Principal Solicitor [middle], named in the Climate Change field and Emma Carmody in the Environmental and Planning Law field [3rd right].
EDO clients – and their adversaries - are well aware of the exceptional legal talent EDO possesses, but the listing provides independent recognition of our nation-leading public interest practice and the high esteem our lawyers enjoy within the Australian legal profession.
Best Lawyers is the oldest and most respected peer review publication in the legal profession. Acknowledgement in the publication is a significant honour and the EDO is among the few non-corporate firms to be represented.
“We are very pleased to see our dedicated lawyers acknowledged in this way. The EDO is a small community legal centre but as these Best Lawyers results demonstrate, the expertise of our lawyers is on a par with Australia’s top firms”, said David Morris, EDO NSW CEO.
"This just confirms that we are able to offer the community advice and legal assistance of the highest level, accompanied by a passion for environmental law typical of all our staff. I offer my sincere congratulations to Brendan, Emma and Rachel for the well-deserved recognition.”
