EDO Insider CPD: Environmental Law in the Pacific
How can lawyers in Australia help their colleagues in the South Pacific to protect the environment?
Register now for an update on the work of our International Program, which aims to build the capacity of environmental lawyers in the South Pacific. Hear about this work in connection to the recent Wagina case in Solomon Islands, where residents are opposing a bauxite mine that threatens to take over 60 percent of their small island home. This case made history late last year as the first merits final hearing held under the Environment Act 1998 (SI).
All funds raised from this seminar go towards our core work of helping the community protect the environment through law. You can claim CPD points for this and all our professional development seminars.
Cost: $45. A light lunch will be provided.
We are very grateful to our pro bono partner McCabe Curwood for hosting this seminar.
If this particular educational activity is relevant to your immediate or long term needs in relation to your professional development and practice of the law, then you should claim one ‘unit’ for each hour of attendance, refreshment breaks not included.
