EDO Insider MCPD: Water law and the establishment of NRAR

Monday 18 March 2019: We're having some issues with credit card processing, which we're trying to fix asap - meanwhile, please ring us to pay and register on (02) 9262 6989.

Register now for this EDO Insider MCPD Seminar to hear more about water law compliance and enforcement from EDO NSW Acting Principal Brendan Dobbie and the establishment of the Natural Resource Access Regulator from Kirsty Ruddock, Director Regulatory Investigations and Compliance.

Water management in NSW is underpinned by complex laws at both a State and Federal level. In 2017 the Ken Matthews Interim Report into Water Management and Compliance found that water-related compliance and enforcement arrangements in NSW have been ineffectual and required significant and urgent improvement.

In response, the NSW Government established a new independent regulator - the Natural Resources Access Regulator – with responsibility for compliance and enforcement of water management legislation in NSW.

This year, the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Royal Commission handed down its Report which found, amongst other things, that a perceived lack of enforcement action has produced considerable mistrust in the law and its administration.

All funds raised from this seminar go towards our core work of helping the community to protect the environment through law. You can claim CPD points for this and all of our professional development seminars.

Numbers are strictly limited. Reserve your place now.

We are very grateful to our pro bono partner McCabe Curwood for hosting this seminar.
