Environmental law at EDO NSW

EDO NSW is a community legal centre specialising in public interest environmental law and policy. Our mission is to help the community protect the environment through the law.

We have a fantastic opportunity in our highly active and successful policy and law reform team to work on laws addressing one of the biggest environmental challenges – how to improve laws to manage land clearing and protect and enhance our unique biodiversity.

Our law reform team works on the big environmental issues at the state and national level and provides thought leadership to identify legal solutions for environmental challenges. Join us and use your legal skills for good! The successful applicant will research and write submissions on reforming tree clearing and biodiversity laws, develop discussion papers and other active policy initiatives and provide legal policy advice to environmental groups who are working on strengthening land clearing laws. This will involve collaborative work with our dynamic outreach and litigation teams.

The position is part-time – 3 days a week - for 12 months, with the possibility of extension depending on funding and organisational needs.

Salary: Salary dependent on experience. EDO NSW also offers generous working conditions including flexible working hours.
