Competition and Consumer Amendment (Prevention of Exploitation of Indigenous Cultural Expressions) Bill 2019

This Private Member’s Bill would amend the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 to make it an offence to supply or offer commercial goods to a consumer that include Indigenous cultural expression unless supplied by, or in accordance with a transparent arrangement with, an Indigenous artist or relevant Indigenous community.

IPART review of government regulation

The NSW Office of Local Government is seeking feedback on independent reviews undertaken by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) that focus on government regulation. The government is now seeking feedback about the issues and recommendations put forward in the IPART reports before making further decisions about developing the government’s final response.
